Those books helped me see the false prophet that I followed for 31 years.
1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. -

Demons & Invisible Forces
by Celtic indid any of you have disproportionate fears of demons, and if you are able to, what was your experience in your emotions with these strong fears?
how did knowledge at such a young age affect you with the detailed graphic descriptions given my the published litureture?
were there any publications which freaked you in any way?

Uncle Bruce,
In my 31 years in the WT, I never heard or experienced reading or hearing all the stuff that you people talk about. I was never a child witnesses or tried to scare my own child with that demon stuff. I lived in the midwest USA. I guess the demon scare-stuff was not in my area like others.
It probably is a sick-fun control thing for dumb adults to play. Like the affects of a scary movie perhaps.
I just want everyone to know they are safe as Christians and the demons are likes toothless tigers if you ever encounter any. In the name of Jesus Christ, a Christian can stop a demon dead in his tracks. Spiritual warfare is helpful in many ways, from helping the innocent not to be afraid to delivering those in bondage from oppression, to releasing those in outright mouth foaming possession.
When demons are chased off, and then they keep returning; then a person has a different ball games to deal with, which involves more knowledge and practice of sorts. However, it is still no big deal.
Thank you,

I am so very very sorry for your experiences, especially those while you were young. I feel for all of you with any current episodes you are experiencing or any past memories of such.
One of the things I know that demons pray upon is fear. Having fear, I have found, is most often caused by ones ignorance of the demons. Today people are just not taught about them as they should be.
Having fear of them shows one's lack of knowledge in their relationship with Christ. If Christ is in you and you are in Christ, and your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and you are born again [saved], then these demons are all bluff.
If Christians realize that demons exist just as much as God does, they can begin to talk about them and learn about what is really going on. This is for the good of the Christian. We do not have to remain ignorant.
Consider that when the Bible says we have a [fight against against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places...] Ephesians 6.... this is talking about Satan's organization. This is why we told to put on the suit of armor. If your armor is in good shape you are ready for battle. So, one needs to know about their armor.
Now what is important to know is that we are the side of the battle that is already won for us by Jesus Christ. This means because of our relationship with Christ we have power over the demons. This, of course, is by the use of Christ's name and the enabling of the Holy Spirit.
Again, what is awful is that people are not taught about their position over the demons, having power over the demons. Please keep talking about them. The more you talk you learn. I feel there is much to deal with for people who have had your experiences.
Good for all of you for discussing them. They are no big deal when you get used to their wiles and machanations and are able to recognize them through people, experiences, and so forth.
As a Christian and believer in Jesus Christ, you are in a warfare, like it or not. If you have no reason to pay attention to them, that is good. However, it is important to recognize them.
In Chirst,
Thomas

What Path To Understanding?
by Undecided ini have been looking for answers to life and death as has many of you.
i was wondering what is the best avenue to take.
do you just rely on intelligence, experience, some holy book, what others tell you, some miraculous heavenly voice, a dream, or are we up a creek without a paddle?.
-
Thomas Poole
I think you lack Bible understanding because I see you are not drawing upon the scriptures. This is okay for a time, but you should now learn "on your own" between you and God, using the Bible and prayer. You cannot depend upon a church or others for the meat of your faith and understanding.
I suggest to start with selecting specific subjects, such as perhaps could be found in a something like "The Interpreters Guide To the Bible, and so forth. Use the on-line Bibles on the internet using key words... You must have a few subjects burning in your brain, right?
For example, as a supposed Christian do you know who you are or for what that stands and really means? Examine yourself to see if you are really saved. Humble and submit yourself to God. Start at the beginning. Learn how Christ and the Holy Spirit can play a part in your life. I went back to get baptized again, and I glad I did it.
Have in mind that as a JW, you were kept in the 3rd grade. So where do you go now? No place, you now have a chance to grow up.
Stay close to your conscience while asking for God's help. Be honest about yourself and what you learn, no matter what, in the mind of Christ that you should seek.
Do you know what it means to be "in Christ" and for Christ to be in you? This is quite a revelation.
In Christ, in love.

Dear NN, Satan is dead but Evil lives on
by unclebruce ing'day nathan,.
i thought your post below very interesting and in order to answer you about my thoughts on satan and change tack a little, i've raised this to the top.
excuse me, but unlike all the talk about why the watchtower society sucks and what's your favorite toilet paper, myth is a subject i actually get off on.

If one does not seek God, but rather abhors the thought of God, how could they ever expect to find him. From the mouth speaks the heart.
I perceive this thread to be a soldarity united by mutual ignorance.
If you have no need to even search for God, you have a God-blank in your spirituality. You have a pseudo god called "yourself," and what you worship is your mind. Your greater love is for yourself only. Next, you have a body which is passing away quickly.
In your approach to knowledge, your distiny is to "always" never find God or to find goodness, or to find peace, or joy, or love, or understanding.
Puny mortal that you are; you cannot even stop your own eternal death. You belong only to yourself. What a pity. So as the wind is be the substance of your thoughts, free and reckless.
One chance is that when God reads your heart you might find his grace.

Puff, this is partial information tht I provided on a previous thread that I introduced.
Puff when in sincerity you post your type of thread on this forum, you can expect a lot of garbage that you have to overlook. Meantime I can help you. In Love Thomas Poole
a little more, as follows:
...You should read a book my Mark Bubeck--Overcoming the Adversary or
Dr. Neil Anderson--Released From Bondage--Obsessive Thoughts, Compulsive Behaviors,....Demonic Strongholds. In sincerity, I provide this because soooo many people are ignorant about the demons and how they influence us individually, our families, and our congregations. The idea that a Christian has power over them is completely foreign to them.
The trouble is so few people know about helping others that have demons. Any Christian in good standing can do it. We should all know how to do this. In should be a common occurrence in Christianity, as it was in Jesus's day. It's called spiritual warfare.
Read Luke 10:19--"I have been given authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions (Satan’s demons in type), and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me.
This is not old fashion stuff. We still have this reality today.
Also, when you play Halloween, you're asking for it just as with a weejee board, if the demons decide to pay attention to you. Here are some ways you can get a demon. Noteworthy is that demons can claim ground upon or within a person by the person’s sins, their inherited ancestral tie sins, any curses said upon them or their ancestors.
Usually, at the start, the names of demons are often the same as the symptoms a person is displaying, such as their some attitude, physical behavior, and so forth. For examples, worry, hatred, pain, headache, seizures, argumentativeness, hostility, arrogance, tiredness, confusion, dizzy spells, weariness, mental distortion, nausea, compulsive behavior, anger, reviling, promiscuity, and so forth. So, these can be normal; however, if you cannot control these, then is time to suspect a possible stronghold upon. You ever tried to get rid of a bad thought or mental dream, and it just kept coming back? When these things are carried to the extreme, you might suspect something.
In Christ, as the Father would have it.

Why is it stressful to be a Witness?
by Mindchild ini would honestly appreciate any feedback of why, in simple terms, you feel there are stresses to being a witness.
the source of stress you have in mind doesn't have to be gigantic.
i'm looking to catalog a list of all the things causing stress to witnesses.. here is a list of ten things i could think of, and there are probably many more.

4. to always be prepared to answer up.
5. to always be on time.
6. to talk about Noah's ark for 50th time.
7. to go in field service at 20 below zero in Minnesota.
8. to tolorate others who are stupid and prideful at the same time.
9. if you are a single publisher and an adult, you have no common friends.
10. to deal with competition among members.
11. to always get a lot time in.
12. to lower your vocabulary.
13. to never be real like a communist sparrow.
14. to raise your hand, but not be called on because they had something against you.
15. to dumb down your life and your aspirations.
16. I was never able to be viewed as a non-person.
17. I was never able to be invisible.
18. Some kind of trouble always found me.If I think about it, Satan certainly had a lot going on in those places.

I was irriatated and disgusted when I stood up before about 40 witnesses and exclaimed,
"May I have your attention please! As of now I am no longer associated with the Columbia Heights Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, and you can take that to the bank!"
Actually I was excommunicating the whole congregation plus the WT per se. I was letting them know I thought they all sucked, pardon the expression.
I was in control, not them. The invasion of privacy was upon them, when I interrupted their meeting with a loud cry of indignation.
I guess when you quit, it's just good to let them know. No messin' 'round 'bout it. I had 40 witnesses, so the elders could not make up a lie as to how it happened, like insinuating some sin I had done by keeping the congregation igornant in how I was no longer a witnesses. Hey, I just quit!!
